resource guide for student moms in college

The academic year may have started already, but perhaps you or someone you know could benefit from this now or in the future. Early Mama's Resource Guide for Student Parents provides some links to organizations that can help alleviate some of the stress college parents may feel when planning for their education and their child's (or children's) well-being.

One in 28 children has an incarcerated parent? Considering the average number of students in a classroom when I was growing up, that means that almost one child in every classroom is directly affected.
Sesame Street also offers a toolkit--Little Children, Big Challenges: Incarceration--to help educate and support both caregivers and children.
While you may not have children or be directly affected by incarceration, you may know a child who--given the statistics--most likely knows a classmate who is affected. Raising awareness and teaching empathy in children can help them support their friends.

My group shared this video with the class at the end of our LGBTQQIAA presentation. It was very eye opening for me and several members of the class.
